In my final geocrafting blog post for the advent calendar, I thought I’d bring you a pioneering geologist and #trowelblazer, often called ‘the greatest fossil hunter ever known‘: Mary Anning.
A match to Darwin and Ted, Mary Anning is similarly simple to make, and the pattern is also free! In her iconic bonnet and green dress, standing at about 7 inches tall, she is genuinely the best thing I’ve ever made (bumping Darwin down to second place. Sorry Darwin).
Download her pattern here and let me know how you get on! For anyone on Ravelry, the project page is here.

Yesterday’s window was lovely Lulworth Cove – correctly identified first by Clark Fenton. Which means Sue is still in the lead on five, followed by Chris and Clark both on 3, Marie on 2, and Rallish and Martin still both on 1…
Geo advent is Lundy Island.
She’s fantastic! Very clever.
